[wastewatts] Bruce Woodford's Forced Air Oil Burner

I'm very interested in building Bruce's version of the MEWOH. I just wanted to clarify something about the blower and oil feed arrangement as per the drawing included with the explanation:

Is the rest of the stove as per the original design with the original chimney arrangement?

Also I read that an atomizing oild burner was consuming 2.5 gallons of oil an hour with an output of 18kbtu. Am I right in thinking that that translates to 23.5kW? What is the consumption at the cut back oil feed rate with the stove temperature at 800°F (that's 275°C!)?

Is there anyway to make this stove light itself perhaps by incorporating an electrical element underneath the burner plate and a spark-plug ignitor perhaps?

Fantastic subject, thanks for the information...
